So... are we apples (actors with a core self) or onions (just actors with no core self)? Why?

  1. If an onion has no core versus an apple that consist of one! I would definitely have to say "an apple"!! why? Simply, because everyone has a different role to play in life, in different situations, and every roles will not truly say who you really are meaning: whether your at work, in the presence of your parents, friends etc. However, I feel as though it is nothing wrong with being "an apple" per se because to be seen on the outside truly don't define who you are on the inside.

  3. I believe everyone is a apple. Everyone have a core, which metaphorically means a "Soul".
Thing is, when you cut through or reach the core, what do you find? Healthy core, meaning good spirit, good heart or rotten core, meaning a dark spirit and heart. I don't believe we are Onions. Even when you think a person have no core, they actually do.

I agree with you somewhat. While a person can determine whether they will have depth or be shallow, I still think everyone is a apple. When you cut through the fruit, something is there.

  6. I think we are all apples. No matter how we may act whether its being truthful or fake to one another we all have an inner core. I was told by my boyfriend the other day that we both are Nerds, we just put on an act in front of people but we both know how we truly act when we are around one another. I dont see it as acting only my closest friends know how I really am and I'm just quiet in front of others.

  7. To respond with the question of being a apple or a onion, seems like a very interesting topic. If I had to diagnois or observe society and provide them with a description between the two or label them with a certain role. Alot of people's role that they would play would be that of a "onion!" The reason I say onion because often times we hide behind a certain image that we feel like must be played out in order to be accepted. Once we no longer have to display that image, like that onion when we peel off the outer layer and show its true form thats when the stinch is realeased. That stinch we may manifest may be a image, where we don't have the confidence and not true to ourselves so we may walk around with the image of an apple. So are we wrong for having that characteristic of an onion and not displaying our true form when carrying or playing a certain role in society?

  8. to respond to those who said that, "everyone has a core like an apple." I really can't agree with that. The reason i say this because every apple becomes rotten one day! The reason I say this, the moment an apple is picked its immediately groomed to be eaten. Wheter its by humans, animals, insects, or mother nature, that apple will be devoured or broken down into something that will sastisfy an appetite. So if someone's role in society is not true or they are not true with thierselves. Will their core be devoured by society and ate out? Like the onion; will their real image be displayed and no longer have that protected shell?

  10. I would have to say an apple because people have many different personalies.I think that people are unquie in many different ways. That all depends on the way a person carries themselves and act while they are in society.

  11. We are like apples because we have something inside of us that will eventually be exposed. Whether what is exposed is positive or negative it is determined by how we interact in trying situations.

  12. Hi, this is Montika Moss.
i would have to say that poeple can be apples and onions. People can be apples by the fact of everyone having feelings and a conscience which is the core. A person can always put on a front just because the way they are feeling in that particular moment. Though sooner or later their true feelings will over power their act. Then there are those who dont care about how they feel on the inside and their daily act/front becomes normal to them. Putting aside all their personal reasons which make up their feelings, they never handle them until they get too backed up and the only choice is to explode.

  13. Hello classmates! This is Sheila. When people first see me they tend to think I am quiet, high sidity, stuck-up, and that only care and think about is myself. People thoughts are wrong. I equate the core of an apple to my soul!I have a heart I love being around others, meeting new people, care about others,i love to help the needy and I am easy to get along with and talk to. I can have my conceited moments...Who doesn't?

  14. I agree with "Beautiful". Eveyone is an apple. We all have that core. We may act someway in front of people because we may not know them, but when we are around our family and friends we act a whole differnt way.

  15. Hey this is Tiffany Hinton, and I feel as though people are apples. The core is the inner being, what we are made of. It represents the true form of who we really are. The skin is who we represent to be . That is the person that is seen on a daily basis amidst our friends and peers. It is us within our environment that is subject to change within different situations. The actual apple, the white part si that person in between, representing who we are and what we can become.

  16. This is Kenny Williams. . . I would define us as apples. Why? Because our inner core is full with all the things people put into our head from birth. What you see everyday is the person that goes through life as is. . . The core part of a person is what society feeds into us, what you see daily and culture around you is what I would say is the core. . .

  17. This is Kenny Williams. . . I agree with Stefany that was a great way of explaining the apple in a spiritual way because if you thing about a good core can be looked as a good spirit and rotten as bad. . . But we tend to speak on violent people are onions but they do have a core just at that time they were not thinking. . .

  18. This is Erica Bishop..... I believe we are apples; everyone has a core in one way or another. What is a core? Maybe the question we should be asking. Some may look at it as a person’s soul, conscious, or true self-being. I believe our core is our true self-being, not what society has reconstructed us to be (as in the everyday act that we perform to be socially accepted). I believe we live in fear of expressing our true self because we all desire to be accepted, so are actions are based around society’s norms.

  19. I think we are apples. Because while we play many different roles we still have a core. We have an actual self that no one else sees but we know is there. I think our core may be small but it's there, because when you think about it when we are born we do not know that we are suppose to act certain ways. That knowledge comes as we get older and a told and showed that we have to have different personas for different situations.

  20. I agree with Erica Bishop and Sunshine about people being apples. Everyone has a soul when comparing humans to apples the core is a soul.

  21. i agree with erica we all are apples and maybe our core is our soul or maybe even our hearts but is that up to us to deciude or are we letting society control that for us

  22. i feel that we are apples with a core, because we can not have th same attidude or personality every where we are. the way we act home and is not the way we will act at school or on job. and what we say around our friends we will not say with our parents. we are everyday actors, because core is consistanly changing depending on the atomsphere that we are in .
